There was no time for ‘post-Christmas’ blues for Craig and Lisa Woodburn- they’d planned to get married in between Christmas and New Year- as they are both teachers this was perfect timing- they were both on Christmas break from their jobs. The wedding took place on Sunday, 29th December in an iconic Lakeland venue- The Daffodil Hotel, Grasmere.

Although the Christmas weather had been unsettled and changeable, it was perfect for Craig and Lisa’s big day- calm and clear and very mild for December. The Grasmere backdrop looked stunning in dove-coloured light.
Lisa had six bridesmaids, three of which were her sisters, and Craig had chosen two best men, and five other groomsmen from amongst family and friends. Lisa had chosen a classic straight style of dress with a very glamourous and glittery veil, and Craig and his groomsmen wore classic and timeless ‘black tie’ attire that fitted in very well with the ‘festive’ theme at the hotel.

Lisa’s father walked her down the aisle, costumed in traditional Scottish attire- a nod to his Scottish nationality, and Craig found it hard to compose himself at the sight of his beautiful bride appearing at the start of her walk!

Lucie Phelps provided a beautiful and elegantly festive wedding cake, Bluebell and Ivy provided all the floral items, again with a lovely twist to the ‘festive’ period and the talented Adam Wing was videographer for the day.

An added piece of entertainment during the daytime reception was provided by a professional bag-pipe player, and guests couldn’t help themselves- they were soon up on the dance floor showing of their ‘Reel’ and ‘Gay Gordons’ renditions!
The talented Joel Dickinson, magician extraordinaire, kept guests amused and entertained throughout the reception, and during the evening, friend and guest Dan Hayes and one of his DJ’s kept everyone happy and dancing until the early hours. With a professional Saxophonist wowing the dancefloor.

Lisa was so happy when, as often happens during December, the sun set in stunning style, and she and Craig were happy to have a walk and a few more photos against the stunning back drop of a Grasmere sunset. An illuminated pagoda in The Daffodil grounds also provided an amazing backdrop for some beautiful intimate ‘wedding couple’ photos.
Craig and Lisa had great fun at their Christmas wedding and every guest said how much they’d enjoyed the happiness and fun of the day too!
