We honestly couldn’t recommend Steve Hillman enough!

From start to finish, he was absolutely brilliant and captured every single perfect moment of our day, including so many little moments we didn’t even realise he’d caught.

Steve fitted straight in like one of the family, was so easy to get along with, and made everyone feel completely comfortable. So many of our guests commented afterwards about how lovely he was and how good he was at what he does. Steve even ended up helping me with my dress at one point and was doing bridesmaid duties haha— nothing was ever too much trouble!

We’re so grateful for the memories he captured for us and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better. If you’re looking for a wedding photographer, I would 100% recommend him to anyone. Thanks again, love Laura & Tommy ❤️

Steve has beautifully photographed so many of our friends weddings that there was never going to be anyone else for us. Somehow, he manages to be part of the action, and yet remain completely unobtrusive.

From our first conversation he understood the assignment and ran with our slightly unconventional ideas about what we wanted. He beautifully captured our ‘secret’ ceremony and 6 months later, our wedding party. We were very clear that we didn’t want hundreds of posed photographs as it was more important for us to spend time with our loved ones, and have the most amazing collection of photographs. We especially love the impromptu action shots of our guests enjoying themselves.

Most importantly, he was able to keep me calm during my anxious moments when everything felt overwhelming- not an easy task! Steve sent us sneak peek photos days after the wedding! Which melted our hearts. He sent us a beautiful video snapshot of our day and also before leaving the venue on our Wedding day Steve gave us a photo he had taken, that he printed out and framed before leaving! This touched our hearts!
The photos arrived a couple of weeks after the wedding which we couldn’t believe. We were so excited to see them! And wow! We are so happy! We have so many beautiful photos! We are so grateful and thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

He made us both feel so relaxed from the start. He’s such a friendly, warm guy and made everything feel really easy and natural. Even the posed photos didn’t feel staged or awkward at all. We were just able to be ourselves and the photos were amazing because of it.

The candid shots are some of our absolute favourites too. He really captured the day as it happened, including so many little moments that we didn’t even know were happening.

I was so sad when the wedding was over because I just wanted to do it all again, but when we got the photos back it genuinely felt like we could relive the whole day. One of the best parts was seeing all the candid photos of our guests and getting to see parts of our wedding through their eyes too.

He understood our brief straight away and stuck to it so easily. The photos feel like us and really captured our day exactly how we wanted.

Where do we start!? We have known Steve for many years, we’ve met at friends weddings and at other weddings we have been a part for over a decade so it only felt right to have him at our own wedding and what an absolute pleasure it was!

Sid (Steve) and Rosie were absolutely brilliant from start to finish. We loved having them capture our wedding day, and they made the whole experience feel completely seamless and stress-free.

One of our main requests was to have plenty of candid photos, and they did such a fantastic job capturing so many natural moments throughout the day. He came recommended to us by the owner of our venue ( Mark Satterthwaite at Base Restaurant & Steakhouse) and we are so lucky he was. Where can I start! It’s been a year since my sister’s wedding at Abbey House in Barrow and they had Steve Hillman as their photographer.
One of the best decisions they made was choosing Steve, he was fun, relaxed and quite discrete but he got the job done perfectly. We all felt at ease and the dreaded group shots took no time at all (with a little help from a megaphone).

We would highly recommend Steve for your wedding photography, as he’s such a nice person and fab photographer. All of our guests said how nice he is and not once felt uncomfortable as he just blends in capturing natural photos without being in your face. From being out in the rain to taking silly photos with a postbox, there was not a request from us that was declined or questioned.
We even got a little video which was a lovely extra we didn’t expect, it is the perfect little summary for our whole day.

I’ve been fortunate to meet Steve a number of times over the years either as a guest or a bridesmaid at a wedding he’s been working at. So I always knew I wanted him at my wedding, there was no other option after seeing how he works.

 I’m lucky enough to call Steve my uncle, so having him as our wedding photographer was an absolute no brainer. From the moment he and Rosie arrived, they made both of us feel so at ease and genuinely became such an important memorable part of our amazing day.

The way Steve approaches everything is so relaxed yet incredibly attentive to make sure the day was captured in the way we wanted it to be, even if that meant nipping into McDonald’s for a quick happy meal.

We’ll always have the honour of having taking Steve on his first ever Uber ride down to the docs. Having worked in the wedding industry myself for a number of years, I can truthfully say that Steve is a credit to the trade and a perfect example of what a wedding photographer should be.

On a personal note, he’s also a credit to our family and we are very proud to share a surname with him.

They say bag yourself a decent photographer for your wedding day and we sure got that.

We were reccomended Steve Hillman by a mutual friend, after viewing his work we knew this is who we wanted and we where lucky enough that Steve had space in his busy diary to capture our wedding day. On the day Steve and his daughter Rosie (who captured some reels for social media) picked out some brilliant backdrops for the photos.

To say they went above and beyond would be an understatement.
They both have a very calm and relaxed approach and they where able to capture all those little moments on camera that we would have missed.
everything from the behind the scenes shots, the ceremony, drinks reception, group and family pictures, the meal and the evening do all turned out incredible.

Steve sure has an eye for detail and if he had an idea for a shot he would check we where happy to do it before setting it up e.g getting the wedding party all lined up on a canal bridge whilst he hopped in a canal boat the get the pictures.

We can’t thank Steve and Rosie enough for all their hard work, the wedding album looks amazing and we would highly reccommend Steve Hillman to anybody.

We booked Steve as our photographer for our wedding on 28th October this year, after a recommendation. We will be forever grateful for that recommendation.

From the start Steve was prompt with his email replies to any of our questions or queries, and put our minds at ease. Our wedding was a fair distance from our home, so it wasn’t possible to meet with Steve beforehand, this did not faze Steve, we had an in-depth phone call before our big day to ensure everything was organised, and no detail was missed.

Steve had not been to our venue before, so he made the effort to scope out the area beforehand, and arrived early on our wedding day to pick out the best areas for shots!
Steve and his wonderful daughter (his helper for the day) made us feel completely relaxed. They were a dynamic team who made sure even small details and moments we may have missed were captured.

Our day was a very chilled and natural vibe, and Steve captured this to a tee. He captured all the sort of shots we wanted and more! The formal photographs with family and friends took no time at all, it was incredibly efficient! Steve’s prompts and hints for certain photos like cake cutting were warmly received!

We also really appreciated the time Steve took to get us away from our guests for a few moments to capture some couple shots, this gave us time to reflect on our day, as well as getting a few moments alone together, which was extra special.

Once the day was over Steve shared a few sneak peak photos which made us even more excited to see the rest! Steve was prompt sending the rest of our photos across, within a matter of weeks after.

Booking a photographer for your wedding is one of the most important decisions you have to make. And as a mature bride and groom who are both quite camera shy! we were really struggling to find the perfect one for us, as a lot of websites seemed to be aimed at younger people, and we were beginning to find the whole experience daunting.
But eventually, and luckily for us our elopement wedding venue The Abbey House Hotel recommend Steve, and what a recommendation!!
