This wedding was close to my heart. Natalie is my niece, and although she is Barrow born, she now lives in the south of England. They chose Abbey House as their venue, as it’s where she and Nick like to stay when they visit the area, and Natalie has always admired the way the hotel looks at Christmas. And so, I was proud to shoot the wedding of my niece, and to be a guest at the same time. Despite horizontal rain and gale force winds, it was a wonderful day, full of relaxed laughter and lots of tears.

Natalie was walked down the aisle by her dad, Mike, as What the Pluck string quartet played. That’s when the tears started! Abbey House does Christmas so well, and the twinkle of lights and flicker of candles added so much to the darkly glamorous atmosphere.
